Music Monday - 9/12/11

In the next couple of weeks I'm going to be sharing a little bit of our trip to Europe with you.  It's almost been one year.  Wow, can you believe that?  I can't.

So, I'm sharing with you today a video of Amazing Grace, one of my favorite songs that always gives me a little lump in my throat.  This one, though, WOW! This video is courtesy of janpolsen @ youtube.  I managed to delete all my videos of Europe and several pictures from some really neat places we visited.  Luckily, we did a fairly good job at downloading our pictures daily to my sister's laptop so I didn't lose too many.

Back at Oktoberfest now.  We were sitting in the Lowenbrau tent at Munich's (Munchen's) Oktoberfest on September 21, 2010.  Having the time of our lives, of course!  It was me, the hubs, my parents and my nephew.  We ordered our first round of beers - and by the way - when ordering beer in Germany, it's eins, zwei, drei (1, 2, 3) . If you're displaying it on your hands, start with your thumb first!  That's 1.  It took a few to understand that one!

Also, I have heard that drinking Lowenbrau at Munch's Oktoberfest is much different (significantly better) than finding it here in the states and imbibing.  I personally thought it was amazing, as evidenced by my many samplings.  Also?  One of the most fun tents we squeezed in to!

I keep getting sidetracked.  Back to the music!  They have orchestras and bands in the center of the tent that play all day/all night.  We happened to catch this one twice.  Quite an experience!  Stick around and watch this video at least until the trumpets come in on the balcony.  Seriously, I got the chills watching it again!  The beginning picks up quite a bit of background noise, but I just love the people-watching in this video.

And a little picture collage of our time in the Lowenbrau tent.  Left is our view of the trumpeters during Amazing Grace.  Middle is me dancing on the table with a group of newfound friends.  Right is the Lowenbrau tent with the hubs down near the door (in blue) doing his impression of the Lowenbrau lion.

PROST!!!
