Meal Plan Monday - A First!

Doing my meal plan electronically, and on my blog, was a goal for me this week.  I usually end up writing my grocery list on one side of my meal plan which then gets stuffed in the bottom of my purse while I'm rustling through said purse (a.k.a. "The Black Hole of Doom) looking for my wallet while trying to contain my son and keep him from screaming in fear of the grocery bagger.

Although...my favorite store to frequent is Fry's, simply because they have a Kid's Play Center that I can leave my child(ren) in while I shop.  They'll call if the kiddos have to go potty or are having a terrible time.  So far?  Complete success!  Both my daughter and surprisingly my son absolutely LOVE it.  They ask for it.  It's obviously their favorite store as well!  Now that school is in session for my daughter, I only have my son with me when we shop on Friday's and this seems to be the highlight of his day.  When I dared to take him to Albertson's instead last week?  Complete fit inside the entrance of Albertson's.  "Where is their play center?  I want to go to Fry's!  Waaaahhhhhhh!"  And so on.

I have daydreamed about dropping him off at the play center and strolling over to the (in-store) Starbucks and sitting at one of their inviting tables and reading.  Then I immediately feel the mommy guilt and say I would never do that.  But inside I really want to and I would if I didn't think I was going straight to hell for it.  Instead, I stroll over to the deli counter and I buy myself a 32oz fountain drink and slurp (ew) on it all the way through the store, happy to be shopping by myself.

Without further ado, my dinner meal plan for this week:

Monday:  Pepperoni Pizza (Monday Night Football - gotta do pizza!)  Bought this at Safeway, one of their Friday $5 deals last week which is a great deal on that family size!

TuesdayMexican Lasagna, salad with lime vinaigrette (From Robin Miller Quick Fix Meals - I love her concepts)

Wednesday:  Crepes with spinach and mozzarella cheese filling topped w/Trader Joe's bruschetta topping (one of my hubby's favorites, I keep moving this back in the menu because he's sick and he wants to be able to savor the taste of this meal!)

ThursdayChicken Fried SteakCreamy Mashed Potatoes, big salad (because this is in no way a healthy meal!)  All from The Pioneer Woman - I'm a gi-normous fan of hers.  Anybody else watching her new show on Food Network?  I'm in love.

Friday:  Dinner out!

Saturday:   Lemon basil chicken, garlic green beans, couscous

Sunday:  Chili, cornbread

That's the plan!  Can we stick to it?  Do you do a meal plan and stick to it?  Or is it more of a loose structure?
