I am from piles of books and collected post cards, from Trapper Keeper and L.A. Gear with teal shoe laces.
I am from the brown house on the corner, rolling valley of green at the rounded base of the mountains, from summer that smells sweet with morning dew.
I am from the willow tree, pine tree, the paper white daisies, sweet smell of honeysuckle and long, regal gladiolas.
I am from dancing in the kitchen and laughing out loud, from Reba and Jean and Deena.
I am from dancing in the kitchen and laughing out loud, from Reba and Jean and Deena.
I am from the hard-working, the down to earth, the sentimental.
From it’s all fun and games until someone gets their eye poked out and at least they’re laughing and there goes the bunny.
I am from Lake Havasu City, the London Bridge, Parker, Bullhead, Iron Mountain, Eagar, Springerville, Round Valley, from rivers, lakes, dams and mountains, from pine trees, cactus, mint, palm trees, from the Home of the Dome, Home of John Wayne’s 26 Bar Ranch, Home of Madonna of the Trail, Home of Los Dos Molinos, where some like it HOT.
I am from artichokes with plentiful garlic butter, green corn tamales, fajitas, ribbon candy, homemade hot chocolate and cinnamon toast, Doritos and grandma’s fried bread.
I am from artichokes with plentiful garlic butter, green corn tamales, fajitas, ribbon candy, homemade hot chocolate and cinnamon toast, Doritos and grandma’s fried bread.
From dad's percolating coffee, mom's mugs of Diet Coke and sister's atomic fireballs. Going uptown and downtown in a one horse town.
I am from Brownies and Girl Scouts, from family dinners on Sunday, the weekly ABC Family Movie and America's Funniest Home Videos.
I am from the heavy wooden cedar chest bursting with history, the hall closet with shelves of family photos in leather albums and memories made in every room.
I am from spray deodorant accidentally sprayed on hair, scissors stabbed into the bathroom door and laughs. Lots and lots of laughs.
That is where I am from.

What a great way to show us who you are.. and way you are from, a refreshing twist on the life story.
Great Poem! My father lives in Lake Havasu. It is so beautiful there.
Stopping by from Mama Kat's.
I almost referenced the Family Movie of the Week too!
You are from a good place!
Trapper Keepers and LA Gear must make you about the same age as my daughter.
You did a nice job with this prompt. I enjoyed it.
So cute! We have to be similar ages:)
Trapper Keepers and LA Gear make us about the same age lol. I've recently been Pinning a bunch of things from "Back in the Day" and have been feeling really nostalgic. Kissing Koolers, Fashion Plates, Spirograph, notes folded in such a perfect way - things I hadn't even thought of in years.
You did an awesome job with this prompt. I totally loved it!! I haven't had cinnamon toast in forever - but my mom made it for us all the time. Thank you for letting us get to know you better!
Ah! Trapper Keepers!!! I'm having so much fun reading through these Where I am From posts and remembering details of my childhood that I've somehow forgotten. I remember hating my fifth grade teacher because she convinced my mom that I didn't need a Trapper Keeper. Maybe I didn't need one, but boy did I WANT one! Thanks for sharing!
Mandi,
I LOVE this! It's so fun to reminisce our heritage. I too, am familiar with "There goes the bunny"!!! I laughed so hard when I read that. I'm so glad you visited my blog and shared this with me!
Blessings,
~Erin
