Preschool Graduation

I read the funniest blog post about preschool graduation and thought, oh no, that's me!  She's talking about me!  Does this mom go to our school?

That mommy blogger was pointing out all the annoying moms and dads at preschool graduation who brought flowers and balloons as congratulations.  The dads with the video camera; the moms shutterbugging.  The obligatory kid running off the stage out of nervousness.  What could they have possibly learned in all of their five years?

I laughed through the whole read.  And grimaced.  Oh man, that's me.  Kind of.  We did not bring flowers or balloons, but I'll admit it here...I shopped for flowers the night before.  I was looking for a single stem - a rose, a carnation, a something - not a huge bouquet.  So when I couldn't find one, I just gave up.  Now looking back, I'm partly glad I didn't find what I was looking for.

At graduation, hubby and I clapped and woohoo'd when her name was called and afterwards snapped photos.  We were pleased as punch over the whole pomp and circumstance.  We totally bought in to this milestone in our daughter's life and we'll do the same when my son graduates preschool.  I think I'll skip the flowers then too!

Oh, and by the way, it was MY son who ran off the stage due to his nerves.  He doesn't graduate preschool for two more years so he has some time to get used to the idea!

Hello there! I am so going to be that Mom! I mean come on, it is a big deal. It is a milestone that should be documented. I am all about pictures and woohooing away for kids! :) I really think that person might be the only one who doesn't do that then! :)

I am following you back from the blog hop! :) Thanks for the follow and I look forward to reading much more!

She looks so sweet and proud. One of my daughter got her first award I told her we could get a frame for it and hang it in her room. Her response was,"If we do that every time I get an award I won't have room to hang anything else on my walls". She had no doubt that she would continue to get more and she did from kindergarten all the way through college.

I am following you via FNF blog hop. Following you on GFC,Tweeter and FB. Stop by and join me wherever you like.
